The village of Lake Placid is such a great place to visit, especially in Autumn.
The scenery absolutely transforms before your eyes from the luscious green forests of spring and summer to the full range of colors that fall foliage has to offer. There are also lots of great autumn activities to participate.
This weekend, Whiteface Mountain is hosting two awesome festivals! The first is the second annual Lake Placid Brewfest where you can try world class beers from all over the country – and even some from Canada! You’ll also find beers that you can only find in the Adirondacks.
Going on all weekend long is the Flaming Leaves Festival where you can go watch America’s best ski jumpers compete at their sport. Check out a great crafts fair, enjoy delicious BBQ, and play tons of great family friend lawn games and competitions all while listening to awesome live Blues music. When the jumpers are done take a trip up to the top of the ski jumps and get a view of the Adirondacks all its “flaming leaves.”
Besides these two great festivals, Lake Placid has tons of other great things to do. Visit all the Olympic sites and see where history was made! Find a U-Pick and pick your own fresh produce, wonder through fun corn mazes, and pick out your own pumpkins for carving! Take a scenic flight with us and experience the Adirondacks as you’ve never seen them before! Or just spend the day wondering Lake Placid’s historic Main St. and checking out all the great boutiques and galleries.
Along with many great boutiques, Main Street is also lined with many wonderful places to eat. Lake Placid is the hub of fine dining in the Adirondacks, and you’ll be able to find casual fine dining or haute cuisine to suite your needs in many places. It’s also full of casual delis and cafes that focus on creating fantastic meals from locally sourced, fresh ingredients. You’ll even find places that brew their own beer!
Lake Placid has plenty of lakeside resorts and mountain adjacent lodges that all make wonderful places to stay. Experience a re-imagined, modern take on the Adirondack Great Camps of the late 19th century that made the Adirondacks a favorite destination for many of America’s billionaires.
Autumn is the perfect time to visit Lake Placid. Experience the beautiful surroundings as the colors change, amazing fall menus packed with fresh, seasonal produce, and lots of great autumn festivities.Tags: Feature
