During Maple Weekend local sugaring operations and maple syrup producers will be opening up their sugar houses to the the public. Have a delicious pancake breakfast at the American Maple Museum or lunch at one of the many other participating restaurants, including Northwoods Inn and Great ADK Steak and Seafood, and then head over to one of our local maple farms like Cornell’s Uihlein Forest or Heaven Hill Farm to see the process of collecting and cultivating sugar from start to finish and taste some maple products.
But your day doesn’t have to end there! During Maple Weekend we will be offering a special maple themed flight, so before you head out to one of the farms to see how maple syrup is made, come join us for a scenic flight over Cornell’s Uihlein Forest and Heaven Hill Farm. On this 20 minute tour you’ll see these gorgeous farms from above, as well as getting a front row seat to some of the spectacular views that the Adirondacks has to offer, including Lake Tear-of-the-Clouds, Henderson Lake, Avalanche Pass, and Haystack Mounting, as well as some of the Olympic Venues at Mount Van Hoevenberg.
