If you’re searching for a unique, organic casual fine dining experience in the Lake Placid area, then the Paradox Lodge is a great place to try!  It provides a personal, intimate, and comfortable dining experience while serving that is exceptionally delicious yet not overly pretentious.

This home turned restaurant is run by a husband and wife duo who run the kitchen and the dining room.   The menu is kept fresh and unique and every meal is lovingly prepared by the chef/owner, Moe. He is dedicated to using fresh, high quality ingredients to create delicious meals for his guests.

The menu features appetizers like wild boar sausage with sauteed onions and mushrooms, in chutney and port wine, and grilled foie gras with fresh fruit and balsamic vinegar.   Entrees are equally original.   Elk loin encrusted with herbs and served with a lingonberry and caramelized onion sauce, amazing seafood selections like lobster, shrimp and scallops with onions and mushrooms over pasta, and perfectly executed filet mignon au poivre with peppercorns and cream.  If you still have room for desert, Nan’s Crisps will really hit the spot!

While the food is spectacular, it isn’t the only reason to go! The service is stellar, and the owner/head waitress, Nan, is warm and welcoming, and is an excellent guide to help you navigate the menu and wine list.  The atmosphere of the restaurant is equally as inviting and cozy.  The dining room is cozy and comfortable, and the open kitchen allows you to watch Moe at work as he prepares your meal! The dining room is small and advance reservations are highly recommended.

The Paradox Lodge is an unmissable experience in Lake Placid.  With an inviting atmosphere, impeccable food, and inviting atmosphere, your only complaint will be that you ate too much!
