Places to Eat in Finger Lakes

Finger Lakes is a large and varied region.  In larger cities like Syracuse you’ll find it easy to find any type of restaurant you fancy.  As you travel into more rural areas you’ll find restaurants that have strong ties to local farms and work diligently to highlight local produce and produce.

Local wines are a favorite and often make an appearance on the menu.  Many local wineries have a bistro or restaurant as well.

Finger Lakes Restaurant of the Week – Enjoy one of the Finger Lakes Region’s fine restaurants selected by the Restaurant of the Week.  Meals are all locally sourced and range from $10-$35 per person.

Two Goats Brewing – Hector

Sitting on Seneca Lake, Two Goats Brewing is a fabulous local brewer! They are a great place to stop by for a pint, and if you have a hankering for a meal, they’ve got the small menu thing down to a tee.  In fact they only have one thing on the menu, but if you’re in the mood for a roast beef sandwich you won’t find a better one anywhere around.  Picture tender, slow-cooked beef, thinly sliced and piled impossibly high on fresh, homemade buns.  It’s then topped with homemade au jus and horseradish sauce.  It’s a sandwich you’ll never forget.  Not to mention they have great atmosphere, live music, and amazing beer!

Pleasant Valley Inn – Hammondsport

The Pleasant Valley Inn is happy to serve you both in the pub for a more casual experience, and in the dining room for fine dining.  In both locations you’ll get delicious seasonal specials.  In the dining room, enjoy crab cakes, perfect prepared steaks, fresh seafood, or the house specialty, rack of lamb. The menu is prepared using locally sourced produce and products and the wine list highlights local wineries to pair perfectly with your meal.

Just a Taste – Ithaca

Enjoy Spanish tapas, with a twist! All meals are prepared using locally grown produce and products from farms in the area. Enjoy delicious cheese, gazpacho, spicy shrimp saute, roast duck breast and so much more.  And the great part is that you aren’t limited to one entree because tapas are meant for sharing!

Elderberry Pond – Auburn

Located on a certified organic farm, Elderberry Pond offers a menu that highlights the fresh produce available daily at their location and pasture reared meat raised on their farm and other local farms.  They also offer a selection of great local wines and beers.

Scuteri’s Cannoli Connection – Watkin’s Glen

This fantastic Italian bakery has been a local favorite since 1971.  They serve fresh cannolis every day along with many other Italian pastries and sweets, including tiramisu, biscotti, and rum cakes.   They also offer pizza on Saturdays.
