SaranacLakeSaranac Lake has a long history with health, fitness and revitalization.  Since the 1850s the Adirondacks have been a popular luxury resort destination, and beginning in the 1880s Saranac Lake was world renowned for the healing properties of its fresh air.

It’s tradition of health and revitalization continues.  Today it is a great place to visit for its many hiking trails, lakes, where boating and fishing are popular, cycling, and many other activities.

As Dr. Trudeau discovered in the 19th century, it’s also a fantastic place to come and just relax.  Sit at the lakeside and read you favorite  book while sitting in an Adirondack chair, or stroll down Saranac Lake’s charming downtown and take in some of their art galleries.  Or perhaps bring your camera or sketchbook along and let the natural beauty of the Adirondacks inspire you!

Saranac Lake’s restaurant scene is great with downtown cafes offering great craft beers and wines you can enjoy while you unwind and catch up with friends, eclectic fry ups offering everything made to order, or secluded eateries offering innovative, creative cuisine with hard to find wines.

So many hotels and b&bs help make this relaxing vacation possible with their lakeside properties, or convenient downtown locations.  They put you within easy distance of anything you could hope to be doing, all while keeping you comfortable and showing you what Adirondack elegance is all about.

Saranac Lake is a great place for a vacation whether you’re looking to be active or just to relax and unwind.  It’s got it all, and it couldn’t be in a more beautiful location.
