There are plenty of places to stay in Lake Placid, but if you’re looking for the best of the best you can’t beat Mirror Lake Inn, which was voted 2012’s #1 hotel in the Northeast.  Located on its namesake, every room offers spectacular views of the lake or the surrounding peaks and mountains and quick access to the beach.  The resort will give you a taste of simple Adirondack elegance, with their traditional furnishings and understated luxury.

The hotel boasts three restaurants where you can take afternoon tea overlooking the lake or enjoy a sumptuous dinner after a day of fun enjoying some of the complimentary canoes, kayaks or paddle boats on the lake.  It also has a sauna and full-service spa on the property.   If you haven’t already planned out your trip, there are plenty of organized activities offered by the hotel, including guided hikes, kayak trips, and sunset cruises.

Looking more for that cozy B&B feel?  Try the Stagecoach Inn.  This B&B is located in a romantic little house built in the 1820s, situated nearby the Olympic Training Center.  Many rooms have private balconies, and some downstairs rooms have private entrances. Your hosts, Mary Pat, and Tony are so welcoming you’ll feel like you were staying with old friends by the time you leave.

Staying at The Haus will allow you to be right in the middle of all the action! It’s located on Main Street and is central to just about everything.  You’ll have great views of Mirror Lake and be within walking distance of lots of great food and shopping.
